It's New Years Eve

Tomorrow is 2011, and officially the year after my baby was born. So weird that in three short months, he'll be one years old! This was the best year ever, of our entire lives. We got Baron, the catapulting toad!! So far, my only New Years resolution is to lose 3,000 pounds. It's going to be quite the uphill battle.

Now that mom is feeling better, Baron is sick. Of course. I feel horrible for him, with his little sniffles and cough.

We have a very eventful night of dinner, tv, drinks and bed. How is this any different than any other night you ask? Well technically it isn't. Oh no wait, I lied. We have champagne, bitches!!!

Mom is sick

But baby is nice! I think he knows I feel like I got run over by a bus, because he's been nice, self sufficient and sleeping. Oh and big news-- he sleeps in his crib now. ONLY his crib! No more little bed. One day he just decided, ok enough with that thing. I hate it, mom. I went and checked on him yesterday while he was napping and it was uh-dorable-- on his side, all curled up, hugging his blankets. Sweetest baby ever. We're on day 4 of just Good Start and I think I might say it-- he's weaned!!! Did we just win the lottery? No, that's Baron not needing million dollar formula anymore!!!

As we speak he has taken every single toy he owns out of the bucket, and is now looking at me like, hey mom, can you get me some more toys please?!

This is why we had to move on from the little bed once and for all...

Edit: I added more pics :)

Baron loves Christmas

Christmas was good, I said all I want for Christmas is a baby who sleeps and we got one!! Happy and nice, and despite the high pitch shrieking, the nicest baby ever. He got a ton of toys, which he of course loved. He ate ham and french toast, which he loved. Oranges, not so much. I wanted to give him a spanish coffee, but Bart said no.

It's almost January, which means this kid is almost TEN months old. And two months away from a year. Good freaking lord.

New slippers

So cute.

A funny baby who likes to get up at 3!!

Baron thinks 3am is the prime time to get up and play!! You know that game where you sit next to me and laugh at everything I do, and I get to empty my toy box by throwing everything on the ground, and you pick it up and put it back in the box, and then we do it all over again? I want to do that, please. At 3am. Lucky parents!!! Oh well. He's huhhhhlarious, so, we'll deal.

Countdown to Christmas...

Christmas is on Saturday and I think we're ready-- everything has been bought, and since we're not doing a lot anyway, we're ready to go. Bart has tomorrow and Friday off so that's really nice, we can both spend the day with the toad! Who is, by the way, funnier than ever. He laughs, laughs, laughs. Makes tons of noises, like he's trying to talk. Loves food. I've been putting his little bucket of toys next to him and oh boy that makes him happy. Tons of toys that I can take out one-by-one and throw? Yes please! He has quite the array of Christmas presents as well-- lucky guy. New Years is going to be pretty low-key, mostly because Baron isn't quite the party animal yet (with his 6pm bedtime and all). That's ok, it's overrated if you ask me. Bart's birthday is on the 5th, and then he starts traveling more (barf). Things are still good though- formula switch is so far so good. We're starting to give him people food, and soon we can wean the bottle. HALLELUJAH!!!!

It's a good week

So I haven't posted much- but that's a good thing. I've been going into the office more, so home less, and therefore less time for my beloved blog. Baron is so good, and in two days he'll be 9 months old! We're trying to switch formula AGAIN for the last time before he's a year. We're doing it much slower than we've done in the past, so we'll see. So far so good, but I've said that before. He's been happier this week, more content and a bit less needy which is nice! Still not crawling. Moves backwards, but has no intention on going forward. I'll just wail, thank you very much. I'll scream until you move me. I'd like to just leave him there and let him, as they say, learn-- but, uh, would you just let a 9 month old scream uncontrollably for more than a few minutes? He loves his walker and can go forward/backwards/sideways-- I'm pretty sure he could drive a car if you let him. But crawl? Hell no. Smiling a ton and is in looooove with his nana. Probably because she takes his socks off and holds him all day.

Christmas is in a week!!! I'll post a picture later, I haven't taken many lately but I will this weekend.

Edit: pictures!!! This little boy was not an elf in his past life. He hates his Christmas hat!

Daddy's back!!!!

Thank the lord. I think Baron's bad mood was sleep deprivation, because he's been fine ever since. Not the 8 week old I-love-just-sitting-here-and-watching-mommy-do-whatever-she-wants happy, but good enough for me. Except he's getting an attitude. Wonder where he gets that? He's starting regular people food soon. Had cheerios tonight, loved them. Guess this means our formula days are numbered, THANK FREAKING GOD. Yes, in so many ways formula is way easier. But it's not the easy way out, that's for damn sure. It's so expensive, even if you don't have world's neediest baby who need the "extra TLC" kind (that makes me laugh, the back of the can actually says that).

Even though he looks nice

He has been a huge pill today. And kind of lately. I don't know what his deal is. Teeth? Shitty tasting formula? Vegetable medley for dinner? All I know is, Bart needs to come back from his trip ASAP. Good thing he's still cute, and he still loves his bath. He has his good moments. He takes after his mom, he loooves to go shopping. If only we could do that all day!

I tried crib naps again today and it was a huge fail. He wailed himself into a bad mood, which pretty much sucked.

I made a tutu, unfortunately boys don't typically wear tutus so I have to find some other victim

Well, we saw santa

And it was good, Baron just kind of looked at him, pulled on his beard, and said "huh." Well ok then, if having a giant white beard is your thing, then go for it. He just sat there, unaffected. Someday I am guessing he'll be running around peeing his pants over SANTA, but not this year. Annie had less of a good time, which was rather hilarious. His outfit was rather cute too, thank god for Aunt Katie and Uncle Pat who buy him the cutest clothes.

Christmas is coming and we have been truly slacking on buying anything. Truthfully, we just can't be the big spenders we once were, so it's a good thing Baron is 9 months and won't notice he isn't getting much. I wouldn't trade being poor though, this little boy is totally worth it. But, if I had the money I'd be buying this coat. It's so adorably perfect there's no words.

Baron is almost 9 months old, next weekend! In three short months we'll have a one year old and we'll be watching basketball like crazy people. And drinking bottles of champagne in celebration of not spending $200 a month on formula anymore!!! Cheers to that!!

Christmas, here we come!

We got our Christmas tree!! It's the most exciting time of year ever, just like the Baron wallpaper I so desire, I'd love a tree year round. But I'm pretty sure I'd become like that crazy ass cat lady (except a crazy ass tree lady) and you'd wonder what barn I was born in. Baron has been happier, although I think he's still teething. He has six teeth, how many teeth do you need at 8 months old, dude?! He is almost 9 months old though, I cannot believe how fast time has gone.

We're going back to library storytime today for the first time in awhile. Baron is a little babbling toad lately, and we're still working on the "mamamamama". I'm pretty sure his first word is going to be "bud light" or something, just to spite me. He's almost in 18 month clothes. The zoot suit (I think) is officially toast, as of this week.

Our family photo is below, aren't we sweet? We're like a little matching Linfield family! And don't mind Baron trying to rip of that annoying f-ing hat (his words, not mine).

Oh, and my first quilt!! I'm a quilter!! Really, I'm a watch-grandma-hadley-quilt, but hey, I've got time, right? I'm so excited about my new sewing machine.

On another note, if we were Jewish, I'd get a present tomorrow. Damn.
