We adopted a monkey

He's about 2 feet tall and weighs 20 lbs. His favorite food is squash and he spends hours attempting (and succeeding) to put his feet in his mouth. Oh, and he wakes up at odd hours of the night talking to himself.

Look who got a new hat!!

Look at the cuteness of this baby and this hat! I'm his mom though, so I think everything he wears is cute.

Look what I can do!

More hours of useful (I meant to write useless, but I think useful is more accurate) fun ahead.

Just a preview, but...

Look at the cuteness!!

Not much to report

Not a lot to report as of now, which I guess is a good thing? Baron is good, has really great days and so-so days, but overall is doing really well. Funny and happy and starting to get smart about things. His favorite thing to do is hold hands. And look at himself in the mirror. And chew on anything. His 6 month pics are Sunday, and next weekend Uncle Pat and almost Aunt Katie are coming to meet Baron for the first time. We can't wait! And Linfield football!

The Littlest Bronco (Ok, probably not the littlest)

Maybe more like the medium sized Bronco! I let Bart dress Baron in Bronco attire a) because they had a game today and I like him in navy and b) because Champ Bailey plays for the team. He's turning into a jumping machine!

6 months ago, I was just a gigantic pregnant woman

And now, I have a gigantic baby who is so funny I don't know what to do with myself! I cannot believe that it's been 6 months already, and that tomorrow will be closer to his first birthday than to the day he was born. I can honestly say I've enjoyed nearly every moment. I can remember those first mornings with him at 4am, when I could have sworn that he smiled at me (I still think he did). He couldn't be sweeter. Yesterday he thought it would be funny to imitate Bart-- if Bart turned his head to one side, he'd the same and then smile. If Bart threw his arms up in the air, so did Baron. Such a fun game. He's been on sweet potatoes for a week and he did well, he made quite a few funny faces, and there were a few meals we had to basically shove it in (such good parents), but we survived. Next up, bananas! And next weekend, his 6 month pictures! What will he wear? He is definitely teething again, he spent the entire day yesterday with his tongue glued to his lower lip. Today seems happier though, although went on a napping strike today! His worst is never very bad, hence my reasoning for wanting more babies.

Six months ago was the best day, ever ever. Probably tied with my wedding day, but completely different (and in a different way, better. Shhh don't tell Bart). I can't wait for the next six, although he is growing up way too fast.

Six months ago, I got this.

And now, I have this! Thank god for babies that give babies their good name.

Thank god they like each other

Or I'd be listing one of them on Craigslist.

We have an almost 6 month baby here!

I cannot believe this baby is almost half a year old! And in the last few days, has turned into a crazy person. He wants to stand, stand, stand! And sit-up, sit-up, sit-up. And lick the mirror! And admire that handsome baby! Yesterday was day one of sweet potatoes! He seemed to like it. If it's on a spoon, he likes it. If it's in a nipple, he's over it. He's turned into fidgety bottle baby. Friday he went to a few minutes of Kelly's play group, I think he was overwhelmed. All he wants to do is stand up, he thinks he's such a big boy who can eat hamburgers and run a marathon. In two weeks we're having his 6 month pics taken, I cannot wait.

At least there's pumpkins

And babies who will soon learn what Halloween is.

Look what Baron got!

More crap for the kid!

It's Labor Day!

And that means no working, which is good (and for the record, I wouldn't be at work even if it wasn't a holiday. But Bart would, so we are happy it is in fact a holiday). It's felt like a really long weekend, even better. Baron is back on rice, we went off for a period of time to try and get his system back on track. He loves it. Next Sunday we start sweet potatoes!! How exciting that will be, let's hope this fills him up a little. I'm trying out photoshop, I wish I had an extra $800 to spend or I'd be the full-blown version.

A few Updates

I realized all I do is post pictures and I don't update on B's progress at all. So for now...

We broke the gripe and pacifier roulette habit at 4 months. He now takes ONE pacifier a day, sleeps without a pacifier, and doesn't ever get gripe. We went cold turkey. Worked for this toad.

Last time I weighed him which was about two weeks ago he was 17.10. Holy moly.

He's in 9 month clothes, and they aren't all that big. I'm guessing he'll be in 12 month clothes by Christmas for sure, maybe by Halloween!

He's going to be a pumpkin for Halloween.

He's still on Prilosec, once a day. His eating issues got a hell of a lot better about 4 months and now things are pretty great. I think everything got really good about 4 months.

He loves Nuk bottles. We tried giving him a sippy cup and all he does is bite on it.

The only pacifier he'll take is Playtex Binky, but oh well. At least it isn't that ugly giant round green thing.

All he wants to do is stand. And grab things-- your beer, glasses, hair, anything really.

He eats 5-6 oz. every 3 hours. Sometimes he wants more though! We're planning on starting solids in the next week or so.

He wears Robeez sometimes, his first look at real shoes!

Not sitting up yet, but working on it. Can roll both ways if he really wants to.

That's all I can think of for now!

Week 1 of work- done!!

I survived my first week back at work, and like I said before, it wasn't so bad. Now don't get me wrong, I would much rather be home with my little one all day and all night without going to work at all, but that isn't realistic so back to work I go. And two days a week is pretty nice, if I do say so myself. I really do like seeing people at work too, I have great co-workers so that makes it not quite so painful. Baron seems to be teething again, I have no idea. He's much happier on the expensive formula, but he's kind of a cranky pants in general, I just think it's growing or teething. Kind of the way he acted before he got his two bottom teeth. He started fake coughing today, and he plays with Austin's toy (he also "plays" with Austin's ears...poor dog). He's funny and only smiles at me, Bart or my mom. Everyone else can suck it (in his book at least). We have a long weekend coming up, and if you're me it's extra long!

I've been addicted to the photo editing site Picnik-- it's awesome sauce. Here's a few pictures I've played around with...more fun than anything else.
