We have tooth!!!!!!

This face is trying to tell you, we got a TOOTH!!! It's finally here. Not like fully in, but a clear tooth cut through which you can see and feel. Poor guy. And everyone who said I was crazy because he's too little, suck it. Mom was right, yet again.

A funny, funny toad

Have you ever seen a funnier baby? I think the only thing that would make him funnier, is if he chose to wear this hat himself (unfortunately, I am responsible for his attire)

Oh and...

Remember when I said this baby won't sleep on me anymore? Lying. He still does. And he loves it. And I love it more.

A 4 month update

Burrito had his 4 month appt yesterday, he weighs 16 lbs 10 oz, and was 26.25 inches long! 75th percentile for weight and 85th percentile for height and head size (lol). He did fairly well, was happy and smiley in the waiting room but pissed off once we took him out of his carseat and undressed him. Oh, and the shots truly pissed him off, as they did last time. He was fine minutes later though, and slept as soon as we got in the car. And of course last night he slept almost 12 hours. Could we have a nicer baby? Because of this baby, I want more babies!! I've never really loved babies, I love the idea of babies but learned young how much work they are. But about 130 days ago, I fell in love with one baby, and now because of him I want more. I think I must still be under the crazy medicine, because I'd be happy with another one, like soon! Yes I know, call me nuts. The little one we have now is nicer than most people I know. Smarter, cuter, more fun to hang out with. Has more interesting things to say. Likes me more. How could you not fall in love with all of that?

A little vintage B. Excuse the crapola quality-- these are all from my cell phone.

This was in the hospital, hours after he was born!

And then a few non vintage pictures. How can you not love this little round face?

Grandparents, the booze bus and a funny little monkey!

That was basically our weekend! Bart's parents were in town which we loved, Baron loved too because he completely adores Julie (I think it's the constant cuddles). He was a complete rock star on Saturday while mommy was on the booze cruise, so nice despite the fact that we forgot to take his stroller out of my car so he had to ride in his other big boy stroller! He did so good. Today we went to lunch and he sat, completely happy, the entire time in his car seat without a peep. He's been getting up a little early for my liking (5 or 5:30), but that's ok seeing as he goes all night in his crib, and after all, he is only 4 months old! We had a really good weekend, despite the fact that it was like 500 degrees. The bachelorette party was a success too, next up-- Carmen's wedding!

An update to that cute outfit I mentioned

I realized I never posted B in his cute party outfit. No good pictures, but you still get to see how snazzy he looked.

Grandma and Grandpa arrive today, and we might try rice cereal for the first time. I think we need to video tape it. His 4 month appt isn't technically until next week, but I'm not one of those moms that needs a pediatrician to tell me what I can and can't do. One time I asked her if I could give B Tylenol and she said no, so I no longer value her opinion. In case you don't know me very well, I'm not a big fan of people who don't give the answers I want to hear. I know she'll say it's fine to give it to him, and he is technically 4 months and ONE WEEK old now!! I've started buying 9 month clothes, good lord. I remember when I was pregnant, I thought he'd never get that big. At his appt. last week he weighed 16 lbs and 5 oz! The GI specialist looked at us like, um, you think your kid has an eating problem? Have you seen his ginormous thighs? He chalked up all of his issues to "Baron just being Baron" which made me laugh. This kid definitely has a mind of his own!

No new pictures to share today, but we'll take more this weekend. Wish me luck on the drunk bus!

A Ferber update and I heart 4 months

I love 4 months, he is so nice and completely adorable. His grumpy-ness seems to have passed completely, he's way more content than ever before, and laughing and smiling constantly. He plays with toys. Ferber is going pretty well, although he's had quite a few naps of crying the entire time. Nights seem to be going pretty well, he woke up at 3:30 last night but I think that was the shitty diaper's fault, not the shitty baby's fault (kidding, people). Sleeping all night long in his crib with minimal crying works for me! His naps have fallen off a bit which I hope doesn't screw up his Ferberization. He's much more content now just hanging out, and he's falling asleep a few times easily just downstairs with me. I'm not one to argue with a nice Baron, so I haven't fought it, but part of me wonders if I would get an F for teaching this Ferber stuff. Bart's parents are coming this weekend, which Baron will love. His mom will break all of our rules I'm sure, and let Baron sleep anywhere he likes (and he "likes" to sleep on a warm shoulder). Oh well. I'll be on a party bus, celebrating Carmen's impending nuptials. What you don't know while drunk won't hurt you! The countdown is on until I go back to work. Big boo for that.

It really was a miracle

On night 2 of Ferber, Baron slept from 7:45 pm to 6:15am without so much of a peep. He cried for maybe 30 seconds when we put him down, but that was it. I thought something must be seriously wrong, but no, he was just sleeping. In his miracle sleep suit!!!!! We just put him down for a nap and I think he's already done crying, a mere 2 minutes or so later. Good lord, who is this baby and where did my strong willed, pain in the ass baby go? Oh, and I definitely felt a lump this morning in his mouth. Which means a tooth is on its way. I'm going to blame the tooth for turning my baby into a crazy person.

Today we're going to Kelly and Jeff's for Kelly's birthday. B gets to meet friends! He gets to see that he isn't the only tiny person on the planet! His outfit is going to be fantastic, I'll bring my camera.

Look at B with his daddy!

Look how nice he is here:

Check me out, I'm in an exercauser!!

We're Ferberizing

Yes, we're that mean couple who is letting our baby cry. But don't completely freak, we're only letting him cry for intervals of time (3, 5, 7, 10 minutes). Technically he cries during those intervals as well, but we don't just leave his ass stranded. I mean, he's FINE. Last night was our first night. He fell asleep after wailing for 35 minutes, then woke up off and on for the next hour or two. He then slept until 1, but didn't require our attention, and then slept until 3. At 3 we had to go in 3 times, but then he slept until 6:30. It wasn't that bad. Much better than the giant load he pulled Sunday through Wednesday, screaming every 2 hours or so and only happy when in our bed. So, this is what he gets. He just screamed through his entire nap, so now he's on the couch watching Enrique Iglesias. He must really hate it in his crib. I am not quite sure what I am going to do when he starts wailing down here, Ferber says I can't hold him to sleep or use a pacifier. Uh, care to help then? Can I just give him a jack and coke and call it a day?

This is definitely my child

Just look at this face:

But he also does nice faces too. Thank god he isn't always so judgmental.
Oh, and my latest attempt to get a full night's sleep (and I mean sleep in until 10am), is the "magic" sleep suit. It's less magic and more padded torture device, because that's how B acted when we put him in it. This picture is pre-meltdown. You have to admit though, he does look pretty cute, doesn't he? He's totally looking at me like, um you stupid ass hole. I am NOT going to do anything in this thing, especially not sleep.

Well I was right (again)

The days of him wanting to sleep on me appear to be over. He screams when I attempt to try that, but to be fair (to myself), he doesn't seem to want to sleep period. He wants to play! And talk! And chew on blankets! But lucky for me, the screaming seems to have subsided for now. One of the benefits of $5,000 formula. He gurgles now. Makes the cutest noises. Wakes us up every morning (at 5am) by talking to us. Gets really mad when you don't give him ALL of your attention. When you do finally look at him, he smiles like it's the best day in the world. Pretty cute. Ok, I won't sell him after all.

Welcome to my world

This is what I get to live with. Fun right?

We're back on world's most expensive formula. We think B has a milk allergy, maybe that explains his gigantic grumpy face? Here's to hoping.

Baby for sale...

His name is Baron. He comes with 82,000 pacifiers and a funny "agoo" noise. And he is a giant pain in my ass. When he isn't sleeping, he's crying. I don't know what the hell is wrong with him, I asked him and he just kept crying. I did get him to stop crying for 25 mins or so earlier by giving him prune juice (which is supposed to help with his stopped-up problem). Baby loves prune juice! Go figure. After being on Nutramigen for weeks, prune juice must have tasted like the best beer in the world. I have no pictures to share because B is such a grump, he won't even half smile for me right now. Here's to hoping this little phase is gone tomorrow.

B's first 4th of July!!

And don't get too excited, no pictures yet. He is sleeping in his crib as we speak WITHOUT the bouncy seat, I somewhat successfully got him to do this. Somewhat, because well, he doesn't really sleep more than 40 minutes in his crib. Oh well, at least he does it right? Emergency trip to the doctor yesterday when we saw more blood in his spit up. Once again they don't know why, they think it's reflux related but no idea. He's acting normal (translation: needy), so they said not to worry. He has an appt with a GI specialist for Aug 2nd, so we'll just wait until then I guess. Poor thing. We started him on reflux specific formula yesterday, which I hope works out because Nutramigen was going to put us on welfare. He's definitely a toy playing machine now, grabbing things left and right. Still working on rolling over, gets really mad that it isn't a lot easier. He's still needy as ever, don't they say they get better as they get older? Still sleeping well at night, although the last few weeks he's had a few impromptu announcements to make at ungodly hours (in which case I just shove a pacifier in his mouth. I know, I'm such a good mom). He's starting to laugh more, which is uh-dorable. Definitely in 6 month clothes now (well some 3-6) and weighs nearly 16 lbs!! He's a giant toad!! But he's cute and fun and we're planning on keeping him.

I need to take more pictures. I've been slacking.
