Thanksgiving was good except for

World's crankiest baby. Nothing could please this kid, and saying he was a pill is a huge understatement. We stayed at my parent's house which I guess wasn't suitable for him, because as soon as we got home yesterday it was like happy baby! He has six teeth now!! Top four and bottom two. And he loves sitting in a high chair at restaurants. So happy and funny.

Have you ever seen anything cuter? I am in love with it, it only took me three hours to decide which pictures to use! I will say, I love Shutterfly's selection this year. I'm usually only a Smugmug girl, but Shutterfly has quite a few neat projects this year (including this card). Good prices too. Check it out- 30% off through Dec. 1.

It's almost Thanksgiving!

We have more friends coming in this week to see Baron, and it will be his first taste of turkey this week as well. And guess who borrowed a santa suit?!!!

Uh, this won't work for our Christmas card

Dear Baron, can you please do mommy a favor and not scream everytime I put you in world's most adorable outfit? Especially for reasons like making a family Christmas card. Just wait, we're going to see the real santa soon-- wonder how that will go?

This one was slightly better. Slightly.

I'm sick

and it blows.

Look at the funny baby though!

Apparently he hates turtlenecks

This is what I got right before we changed his clothes:And this is what I got right after:
Apparently he wanted to spend all day in monkey pajamas instead of in overalls and a football turtleneck. So dramatic, this kid. To the turtleneck's credit though, he was really tired. Approximately five minutes later he was completely asleep.

He's feeling better today, although the world revolves around puffs. PUFFS PUFFS PUFFS! That's what he screams when we shake the container. And he seems to know that puffs come at the end of every meal, so why not refuse the meal and just get puffs instead? Today was supposed to be the start of no little bed naps, only crib naps, but he's been sick and I'm a big softie. Tomorrow, I promise.

Well, I'm home today

No fun mommy day for me, I get to stay home with a sick baby! But that's ok, there's worse days to have. He's not doing too bad, just a runny nose and kind of cranky. He still smiles though!

The baby is sick

And it's the worst day of my life! The poor, poor thing. He just has a cold, but it's never been sadder. He has a runny nose and red eyes and he's just so pathetic. I put a humidifier in his room but now I'm afraid he's going to overheat, because it's warm mist. I just want to put him in my bed with me (and I would, if he would sleep there. He won't though, he'll wake up a thousand times). And I'm supposed to go out with Kelly and Emily tomorrow! Big boo.

I hesitate to even write

Because I don't have any new pictures!! But that's silly, I can still actually contribute to this blog by doing what I always said I'd do-- update about our monkey. It took him maybe 2 or 3 days and he's basically mastered picking little things up and feeding himself! And he loves the sippy cup, although he's not nearly as good with that yet. He loves sitting by himself and playing with books or toys. He loves when he's with nana (probably because she gives him ALL of her attention), it's funny how he recognizes people now. Starting Friday we're finally going to commit to naps in the crib. Enough with the magic catapulter!! While he's sure funny, he needs to nap in his crib instead of his little bed. Which has a weight limit much, much less than Baron's. See, we're secretly horrible parents!

I have this good idea to make a video/slideshow for his year birthday. Note to self: make time to do this!

One of my favorite blogs always ends her entry with a quote, and I'm going to steal it. There's so many I love, so we'll start today.

And while we're at it

A baby in a sweater vest!! And a baby in a funny hat!!

He's working on picking up his own food (can anyone say, self sufficient) which is fun, and we've moved on to jarred food as the Disher baby bakery is exhausted.

Halloween, a little late

Look at the little (pleased) Halloween monkey!! Not happy, but so cute nonetheless.

Monkey jammies

B got the cuuuuttttest new monkey jammies, I don't know who's cuter-- the monkey on them or the monkey in them! Thanksgiving is in three weeks, people. We need a menu! Bart's family is coming, so we'll be hosting the events, and with Bart's excellent culinary skills, I'm imagining he'll do a majority of the cooking. But I'm making my famous keylime pie!

I need to update all of the uhdorable and funny things Baron does right now, because wasn't that the whole point of this blog, after all?

  • jumps and jumps and jumps and jumps

  • yells and then laughs

  • does "mamamama" when he cries (it's not entirely mama though, yet)

  • cries and then gets his way and then smiles

  • LOVES sweet potatoes and pears. We've tried them with cumin and nutmeg

  • Will spend an hour looking at his photo book

  • can basically sit up on his own. He can, but he might collapse, so I don't like to leave him for too long

  • loves sitting on the couch

  • favorite thing ever is books

  • Getting more hair, but still very bald

  • Thinks daddy is hilarious
We're in the middle of election results, and while I'm not entirely sure why we're supposed to care (we're not voting on a new president or anything), all of the measures I DO care about have failed. Explain to me, why anyone would vote no on the ability to purchase alcohol at a grocery store vs. a liquor store. If you're voting no, either you a) don't drink and want to make things a giant pain-in-the-ass for others (and that makes you an asshole), or b) love visiting the liquor store on a weekly basis, because it's oh-so-fun. (And both options make you an asshole, by the way). Medical marijuana was also vetoed. I don't get these people who are voting, I think we're all really and truly surrounded by idiots. Or mormons. It's probably a combination of the two, but if mormons can marry sixteen people, can I please just be able to purchase grape schnapps at Safeway, please?

A rather boring update

I don't have much to post, other than cute pictures of our funny baby. He's turned into a jumping bean in his bouncer, he jumps until he pukes, asks for some gatorade, and then does it all over again. He's serious about this jumping stuff. Oh, and he thinks his Wubbanub is soooo funny now, he chews on it and gives me this look like, you're the dumbass who bought me this, right? Like this:
I know it's just the beginning of this baby making fun of his mom.

Other cute pics from our day. He's almost fully in 12 month clothes now, which is SAD!
